Georgios was brought up in Didymoteicho, a small town in northeastern Greece. He obtained his Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from ATEI of Piraeus in 2008. As part of this degree, he completed a 6 month internship at the Hellenic Sugar Industry as an Electrical Engineer and he kept this position for another 6 months. In 2010, Georgios joined the department of Engineering and Design at University of Sussex, where he focused his studies in electronics and he received his second Bachelor Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with First-class honours. His BEng thesis is titled “Wireless Sensor Network for Environmental Monitoring”.

In 2013, he attended the MSc in Biomedical Engineering in the Department of Bioengineering of Imperial College London. His MSc project was the design of a “Wireless TBI Monitoring System”, under the supervision of Dr. Emmanuel Drakakis in the Bio-Inspired VLSI Circuits and System Group. After the completion of his MSc in September 2014, he received a 4-year long EPSRC studentship for the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Neurotechnology at Imperial College London. As part of this studentship and under the supervision of Dr. Em. Drakakis, he acquired a degree of MRes in Neurotechnology and now is a third year PhD candidate. His main research focus is the design of a “Novel Automated EEG System for Early Warning of Neonatal Seizures”.
